UPDATE: Animals die after electrical fire in Stockton

STOCKTON — Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department investigators say a fire at a town home originated in a electric receptacle and then spread throughout the house. None of the occupants were injured, but several animals died as a result of the fire.

The fire occurred at 7150 Route 380 Stockton on Sunday afternoon.

According to scanner reports, departments from Stockton, Cassadaga, Brocton, county Emergency Services and Sinclairville were at the scene. Smoke was reported showing by responders upon arrival at the location. Calls also being made for tanker trucks.

Ambulances also were requested at the scene after the fire was reported around 1:30 p.m.
