BROCTON — Brocton Central Schools have named their students of the month for March.

Xoey Karlstrom was selected by the Brocton Middle School faculty and staff. She is currently an eighth-grader at Brocton and is the granddaughter of Lynda Karlstrom and Chuck Karlstrom of Portland.

She enjoys baking and making dinner with her grandma. She previously participated in karate. Her favorite subject is drawing and she plans to become a pet groomer, vet or zookeeper in the future.

Emma VanValkenburg was selected by the Brocton High School faculty and staff. She is currently a ninth-grader at Brocton and is the daughter of Kathryn and Dale VanValkenburg of Brocton.

She is a mentor for the student run, Sources of Strength program at BCS. She is also a member of Band and Chorus. She has achieved High Honor Roll twice this school year. She has been selected to All-County Chorus. She is also a dancer. Her favorite subject is Science and she plans to attend college in the future to become a pharmacist or a chemist.
