“You just know when you finally have your team,” Ralston said.
A new member of the counseling department has completed the team at Silver Creek following the appointment of Danielle Dietrick as a school psychologist. Dietrick’s employment will begin on May 16 with a standard four-year probationary period.
Ralston called Dietrick “the perfect final piece” to complete the now-fully staffed counseling department. Ralston said to Dietrick, “We are so, so very blessed to have you join this team.”
Dietrick said that Silver Creek already feels like home. She was then presented with a Silver Creek vest by fellow school psychologist Nick Gerard.

Ralston also recognized the district’s social workers — Kari Case, Sara Marranca, and Beth Miller at the recent meeting. Ralston called their profession “a job that just does not stop” in crediting the work they each do for the district.
Ralston spoke to how proud she feels when she hears other administrators speak to the importance of a social worker because of her confidence in the group she has at Silver Creek.
“Thank you for everything that you do, without even blinking, without even appearing stressed at any moment. We would be lost without you,” Ralston said in addressing the group. “It’s pretty amazing to have the team that we do.”
No one represents the concept of a team at Silver Creek better than Mike Janisch, the district’s varsity baseball coach. Janisch is the all-time winningest coach in Chautauqua County history with over 500 career wins.
At the recent Board meeting, the District passed a resolution recognizing Janisch as the basketball score/clock operator and public address announcer through the winter sports season, as well as his time as an intramural baseball coach.
Janisch volunteered his time for all 12 dates as an operator and announcer, estimated at $780, and 21 sessions as a coach, estimated at $597. He completed all of the work – that the district would typically pay for – and later submitted a letter to Ralston and the Board of Education stating he wished to donate his time and effort.
“It was a very nice motion on his behalf,” Ralston said.
The Board also approved Nate Shuart as a varsity girls flag football assistant coach and Chris VanCheri as a volunteer junior varsity baseball assistant coach.
A trial period of a High School Garden Club was also approved, as well as 2025 Summer School Coordinators: Kelly Pieniazek, Rose Battleson, and Kevin Rice.
