Fredonia holds off on further water distribution

There were three rounds of water distribution from Wednesday to Thursday in the village.
Some 2,200 cases of bottled and canned water were distributed to residents on Wednesday and Thursday through the Fredonia Office of Emergency Management, village officials reported on Friday morning.
For now, however, there are no future plans for water distribution due to additional bottled water supplies currently limited today or over the weekend. Additionally, turbidity levels in the village water system are steadily improving.
“If it is determined that the current boil-water order cannot be lifted by Sunday, July 13 or Monday, July 14, we will immediately take action to secure additional bottled water supplies and prepare for another public distribution session on Monday, July 14,” a press release noted Friday.
“We thank our residents for their continued patience and cooperation as we work to ensure public safety and restore normal water service as quickly as possible.”
