Webcast to feature Fredonia restaurant

A national media and marketing company is set to feature Freconia’s Angry Squirrel in its online series highlighting American restaurants.

America’s Best Restaurants will film an episode of its “ABR Roadshow” at the Angry Squirrel on July 17. The company focuses on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants.

Their press release about the event promises that “Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owner Andrew Smith about the restaurant’s special place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.”

Smith has more than two decades of culinary expertise, and notes he has a “burning” passion for hot sauces. Homemade hot sauces from locally-grown peppers and aiolis are available in many dishes.

“This is what food tastes like when the people who are making it love food and take time to work with local farms for fresh and unique flavors,” Smith said. “We are proud of how we work with local farms to make our toppings.”

The menu includes gluten-free items and is inspired by Andrew Smith’s son, Noah.

The menu features fried chicken, Noah’s favorite food, available as poutine, wraps, subs, salads, and a basket with fries. Patrons can then customize the style of chicken and toppings.

“Popular menu items likely to be featured on the episode include the fried chicken wrap with Buffalo topping; and the fried chicken poutine with Cajun toppings,” the America’s Best Restaurants press release stated.

America’s Best Restaurants will be filming on location July 17 at the West Main Street restaurant from 2 to 5 p.m. The finished episode premiere date will be announced on their Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website.

“Restaurants featured on the ABR Roadshow are selected based on their customer reviews, menu items, social media presence, and level of involvement with their community. They are found through customer nominations, internal vetting or by a restaurant applying to be featured at www.americasbestrestaurants.com.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
