Joyce Ruth Staley
Joyce Ruth Staley, age 83, formerly of North Gazelle Street, Dunkirk, NY, and Concord Estates, Fredonia, NY, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly the Chautauqua
County Home. She was born on April 17, 1932 in Dunkirk, NY, the daughter of the late Donald and Belle (Jagoda) Staley. A lifelong Dunkirk-Fredonia resident, Joyce was a skilled beautician who owned and
operated her own beauty shop on North Gazelle Street. A devout Catholic all of her life and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, she participated in pilgrimages to shrines in the U.S. and Europe. Joyce
was an avid reader and was interested in politics and current events. Surviving are her sister, Jean (the late Robert) Hollfelder, her sister-in-law, Mollie (the late Robert) Staley of Dunkirk, nephew and godson, Edward (Sara) Staley and their son Caden, nephews Jonathan Staley, Thomas Staley, David Hollfelder and niece, Ellen Hollfelder. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Donald “Jack” Staley and Robert Staley and aunt, Frances Jagoda.Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 11 a.m. Interment will
follow in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc.
