Scott F. Berger, 50, of Buffalo, formerly of Fredonia, died unexpectedly Saturday evening (Nov. 19, 2016) at home. He was born Sept. 25, 1966 in Dunkirk, the son of Sally (Maternowski) Berger of Fredonia and the late Frank Berger. Scott served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1985-1989. He had been employed as a cook for Altamont Veterans Housing Facility in Buffalo. Besides his mother, he is

survived by two sons, Jacob Berger of Fredonia and Gunnar Berger of Buffalo; one sister, Lisa (Gary) Leber of Dunkirk; two

nieces, Cierra Leber and Brianna Leber; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Scott was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed

hunting, fishing and camping, especially with his friends and family. Scott was also a car enthusiast; he loved body work, paint-

ing cars and restoring them. While serving in the Ma-rine Corps, Scott was an aviation mechanic, serving time abroad. In his later years, Scott continued to serve his fellow veterans at a VA home, serving meals daily, which reflected his love for cooking. Scott also enjoyed playing golf and loved sports. He will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your veterans charity of choice. Memorial services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Pastor Richard C. Woods will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2-4

and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
