Carol A. Schmidt, age 69 of Dunkirk, passed away Sunday February 25, 2018 at Brooks Memorial Hospital after a extended illness. She was born on December 17, 1948 in Dunkirk to the late Peter and Magdalena Kubiak Schmidt.
She was a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia. A resident of Pinellas, Florida for 30 years, she was employed as a Baker with Publix Supermarkets there. She moved back to this area 5 years ago.
Carol enjoyed taking rides, going to the casino and dog racing. She loved her canine companion “Baby”.
Surviving are two brothers: Norman Schmidt and James Schmidt both of Dunkirk along with several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, a brother Ronald and his wife Mary Rita Schmidt, and a sister Linda Clark.
There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sheridan Fire Department would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements by the Newman Funeral Home, Inc.
