Betty V. Patz, 90, of Dunkirk died Sunday evening (June 10, 2018) at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk with her two granddaughters and one great granddaughter by her side.
She was born Nov. 9, 1927 in Wynne, Arkansas. A homemaker, Mrs. Patz was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church. She enjoyed gardening, and especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include four daughters, Sue (Dave) Thompson of Fredonia, Patricia Chassin of California, Cindy Griffith of Gowanda, and Becky (Wil) Mead of Long Island, NY; one son, John O. (Debby) Patz Jr. of Fredonia; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Patz, who died Oct. 17, 2005.
A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 10 o’clock in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel P. Walsh will officiate. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum of Holy Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Darwin R. Barker Library.
