Christopher A. “Crispy” Kolassa

Christopher A. “Crispy” Kolassa, 51, of Fredonia passed peacefully on Tuesday June 5, 2018 with his family by his side after a valiant battle with cancer at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

He was born Nov. 9, 1966 in Dunkirk, the son of Frances “Molly” Franskowiak and the late Thomas H. Kolassa.

A lifelong Fredonia resident, Christopher was a graduate of Fredonia High School, Class of 1984. He was employed by the former Cliff Star Corporation.

An avid Buffalo Bills supporter, Chris enjoyed gardening, hiking, and anything related to the outdoors. He loved all animals. An accomplished musician, he loved music and was a member of several bands throughout the years. Most of all, Chris loved his family and was always there to provide support to them.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his step- mother, Gail Kolassa of Fredonia, three brothers, Jonathan (Jennifer) Kolassa of Fredonia, Daniel Kolassa of Florida, and Thomas (Janice) Kolassa of Fredonia; seven nieces and nephews, Thomas S. (Brittany) Kolassa of Ohio, Kimberly (Daniel) Sturzenbecker of Jamestown, Nicole (Marcos) Kolassa of Dunkirk, Brody (Brooke) Kolassa of Dunkirk, and Bryson Kolassa, Keegan Kolassa, and Jake Kolassa, all of Fredonia; six great nieces and nephews, Mia, Ava, Eliana, Alexandria, Sadie, and Theodore.

A Celebration of Life picnic will be held at the lower pavillion of Russell Joy Park on Friday, June 29th from 5-8 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
