Raymond J. Dudek, 89, of Dunkirk, NY died Wednesday evening, September 26, 2018 at his home. He was born in Dunkirk on April 16, 1929 to the late Michael and Josephine (Lewandowski) Dudek. A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Raymond was employed at Greater Buffalo Press for over 35 years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and the First Ward Falcon Club.He loved wood working and building things with his hands. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He also enjoyed regularly beating everyone at pinochle. Along with his wife, he volunteered for the Red Cross bloodmobile.Survivors include his 5 children, Barbara Mizwa of Dunkirk, Steven (Jane) Dudek of Fredonia, Linda (Ray) Katta of Fredonia, Doreen (Bryan) Carr of Hamburg and Theresa (late Robbin) Hill of Fredonia; 11 grandchildren Christopher (Krystle) Mizwa of York, South Carolina; Andrew Mizwa of Palm Harbor, FL; Courtney Mizwa of Avon, Ohio; Michael Dudek of Buffalo, NY; Mark Dudek of Urbana, IL; Nicholas (Renee) Saden of Orchard Park, NY; Amanda (Frank) Bartela of East Lake, OH; Jason (Shannon) Carr of Rochester, NY; Megan Carr of Denver, CO; Sarah Hill of Buffalo, NY; and Lauren Hill of Ithaca, NY; great grandchildren Braydon and Addyson Mizwa of York, SC and Sienna and Aurora Saden of Orchard Park, NY. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Dolores (Muszalski) Dudek, brother Edmund Dudek and sisters Loretta Weber, Mildred Taylor, Gertrude Worosz, Virginia Dudek and Delphine Glenn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Monday, October 1st at 10 am at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. There will be no calling hours. Flowers are gratefully declined and memorial donations can be made to the Lake Shore Humane Society, Dunkirk, NY. Entombment will be in the Pieta Mausoleum of St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements are made by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
