Walter Albert Amy Sr., 85, of Fredonia, N.Y., died after a brief illness on Sunday January 6, 2019. Walter was born February 12, 1933 in Conewango, N.Y. to the late Albert and Mabel Howard Amy. He was a 30 year employee of Al Tech Steel Co. Walter enjoyed hunting, gardening and antiques. Above all, he loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, as they were his favorites.Walter is survived by: 2 children, Stephen (Debbie) Amy, of Zephyrhills, FL and Donna (Dale) Ransom, Fredonia, N.Y.; grandchildren: Stephanie (Aaron) Amy, Derrick (Janine) Ransom, Dustin (Brittany) Ransom, Drew (Erin) Ransom, Nick (Pam) Ransom, Keshia (Dan) McCloskey, Ann Marie (Brahim) Scott, and Christopher (Yasmine)
Richardson; also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, his sister, Sandra (Dennis) Lott, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Walter is predeceased by: his long-time companion, Mary Lou Barlow; 3 children: Kathleen Pringle, Walter Amy, Jr. and Karen Rose Amy: also 9 siblings: Harold Amy, Gwendolyn Rowland, Robert Amy, Betty Long, Shirley Nunn,
Raymond Amy, Doris Amy, Ronald Bailey and William Bailey. A celebration of Walter’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced by the family.Flowers gratefully declined.
