Emma Catherine Urquhart Koshinsky

HAMBURG: Emma Catherine Urquhart Koshinsky, 93, formerly of Silver Creek, passed away Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 in Hamburg, following a brief illness. She was born in South Mountain, Ontario, Canada on March 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Robert S. and Emma (McIntosh) Urquhart.

After living for many years in Ludlow, MA, where her beloved husband of 62 years, the late Robert J. Koshinsky, taught high school, they lived in Silver Creek for nearly 30 years. She was a longtime congregant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Silver Creek, where she engaged in a number of supporting activities such as knitting for the Mitten Tree and baking her well-regarded pies for various church functions.

Survivors include her dear children; daughter Shelley (Stephen) Quesnel, sons Daniel (Betty) Koshinsky and Robert T. (Deborah H.) Koshinsky. Also surviving are five treasured grandchildren, Jeffrey, Sarah, Melissa, Jessica and Michael, four great grandchildren Jack, Rylie, Alexa and Ariyan and many nieces & nephews. Besides her parents and husband she is predeceased by two sisters Jean Marvel and Ann Kelly and a brother Robert Urquhart.

There will be no prior visitation observed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10 o’clock from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 165 Central Avenue, Silver Creek, with Rev. Daniel Fiebelkorn, pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Silver Creek.
