Esther M. Simmons

She was born January 25, 1957 in Olean, NY the daughter of the late Fremont “Pete” and Violet (Dutton) Hamilton.

On January 23, 1971 she married Herbert Simmons who survives.

Mrs. Simmons was a Registered Nurse for over 35 years working at Tri-County and Lakeshore Hospitals.

She was a member of Gowanda VFW Auxiliary, American Heart Association CPR instructor and was very active with the community.

Besides her husband she is survived by a son Paul (Suzanna) Simmons of Silver Creek, NY and 2 daughters Kristy (Sam) Lauer of Perrysburg, NY and Kathi (James) Kuebler of Lackawanna, NY and 4 grandchildren Micah, Kylie, Noah and Alexander. Also surviving are 2 Brothers Roy (Donna) Hamilton of Hinsdale, NY and Dick (Linda) Hamilton of Tulsa, OK and 2 sisters Arlene Kent and Mary (John) Tetlak both of Hinsdale, NY and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother Willard Hamilton and a sister Irene Farwell.

Friends may call at Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 105 East Main Street in Gowanda, NY on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 12, 2019 at 1p.m. from the funeral home.

Burial will be in Collins Center Cemetery.
