Jane M. Bremer
Jane M. Bremer, of Dunkirk died Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 29, 2019) at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 16, 1927 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Clarence and Barbara (Ludes) Braun. A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Mrs. Bremer was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church.
Jane spent most of her working career in the auto insurance field, and had been employed by the former Glenn Jankowski Insurance Agency. She was an accomplished amateur artist who for many years enjoyed creating paintings in oils.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Edward D. Bremer; one daughter, Barbara B. Cybart of Mayville; two sisters, Dorothy Topliffe of Kenmore and Barbara Sommer of Hamburg; two granddaughters, Stephanie Cybart of New Zealand and Rachel (Andrew) Welton of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her family Jane leaves behind her loving care-givers, Joni, Jodey, Evie, and Louise.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Roach.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 o’clock in Holy Trinity Church. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dunkirk Public Library, 536 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY.
