Denilson Costa

Denilson Costa, a resident of Dunkirk, NY, formerly of Bom Despacho, MG, Brazil, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Buffalo General Hospital.

Denilson was born on July 21, 1969 in Montes Claros, Brazil, the son of Lenir (Silverio) Costa of Bom Despacho, MG, Brazil and the late Geraldo Antonio da Costa.

Denilson lived most of his adult life in Bom Despacho, MG, Brazil until he moved to the United States in November of 2008 to be with his wife, Jennifer Costa. Prior to moving to the United States Denilson had a career with the Civil Police in Brazil. In the United States he worked for the State University of New York at Fredonia.

Denilson had an incredible passion for life. He had a positive energy that was contagious to everyone that had the privilege of knowing him. His greatest pride and joy in life was being a father to his two children, Suhliana and Kenderson. Denilson was an avid soccer fan, his team was the Brazilian Atletico team. He loved to putter around the house, fix and build things, garden, and spend time with his family.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Burke) Costa whom he married on November 10, 2007; daughter, Suhliana Costa; son, Kenderson Costa; two brothers Sergio Murilo Costa of Bom Despacho, MG, Brazil and Ramon Bressane da Costa of Contagem, MG, Brazil; sister, Fabiana Cristina da Costa of Contagem, MG, Brazil; seven nieces; and one nephew.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jaqueline Simone Raquel da Costa.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a time to be announced. Arrangements are by McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
