Scott J. Stoyle

Scott J. Stoyle, 48, of Herriman, Utah, formerly of Dunkirk, died unexpectedly Thursday evening (Nov. 5, 2020) at home.

He was born Aug. 26, 1972, in Dunkirk, the son of James “Jidge” and Sandra J. (Korbas) Stoyle of Dunkirk.

Scott graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1989. Shortly after graduation he earned an associate degree from Millard Fillmore Hospital’s program for radiologic technology. He interned at ECMC.

After graduation he moved to Dover, Del., and worked in the emergency and the O.R. He then moved to Salt Lake City where he worked in orthopedics. Next he was off to Middle River, Md., where he worked in trauma and then moved to a Nephrology Center. His last move was back to Herriman, Utah.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Carmella Stoyle of Kent, Ohio; his older brother, Shawn J. Stoyle of Herriman; his younger sister, Stacy J. Bautista (Anthony Bautista) of Dunkirk; aunts and uncles: Ron and Renee Korbas of North Carolina, Patrick and Kathy Stoyle, Donna Stoyle and Donald and Audrey Stoyle, all of Dunkirk; his aunt, Ann Marie Maternowski of Kentucky; his nieces and nephew: Sheamus Stoyle, Shaeleigh Stoyle and Sinead Stoyle, all of Herriman, Utah, and Sophia Louise and Gabriella Rose Bautista of Dunkirk. Scott was also blessed with many cousins and lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his uncle, Tim; and his sister-in-law, Susan.

Anyone that knew Scott has heard him say “He is passionate about his family”. He loved coming into town and celebrating with his Stoyle Clan and spending time with his mom and dad. He loved being an uncle since the second his nephew was born. His nieces Sophia and Gabby referred to him as Uncle Merman because he loved swimming with them. Scott has always been the most empathetic and kind person to all. He always trying to make people laugh and smile. He has an incredible sense of humor. He was also passionate about the Seattle Seahawks and music. Music was in his soul and he would never back down from a good Dead show or concert. Scott felt so blessed to be able to live with his best friend and brother, Shawn and his nieces again. A brotherly bond that could never be broke. However his biggest love of his life was his beautiful daughter, Carmella as he liked to call her Bella Boo. He was so proud of the young women she has become. We are comforted by the thought of Scott joining his Bushia, Uncle Tim; and his best friend, Brian in heaven.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Dunkirk at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
