GOWANDA — Douglas M. Wright of Beech Street, 45, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021.

He was born in Springville on April 1, 1976, the son of Richard Wright of Gowanda and Susan Arnold of Gowanda.

Doug graduated from Gowanda Central, class of 1995, he married the former Kimberly Westburg on Oct. 7, 2006, at the Gowanda Free Methodist Church in Gowanda.

Doug was a technician for Colton R.V. For many years, he enjoyed camping and had a big propensity to advertise for his employer any chance he got. He loved his family and was a great hockey dad, he enjoyed hunting and especially enjoyed being a part of the demolition derby scene, an interest he passed down to his boys.

Doug was very active with the Hidi Fire Department especially when his kids were younger. Doug was a past member of the Slovenian Club in Gowanda, he was kind hearted, fun loving, had a sense of humor, second to none and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need.

Surviving besides his wife, Kimberly are their children: Ethan E. Wright, Zachary R. Wright and Delanie M. Wright, all at home. Doug is also survived by his parents, Richard and Susan; along with a sister, Stacey A. Wright of Cottage: step-siblings: Chris and Craig Crampton; his in-laws, Richard and Lois (Bowers) Westburg of Gowanda: sisters-in-law; Annette Gorenflo and Jackie Kota of Gowanda; and brother-in-law, James Kota. Doug is also survived by aunts and uncles: Carolynn Turner, Robert Wright, John Wright, Suzanne Mager and Thomas Arnold; cousins, nieces, nephews along with many friends survive.

Douglas was preceded in death by a twin brother Kevin T. Wright ( May 11, 2018) and an Uncle , Douglas Arnold .

Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St., Gowanda, Thursday from 1-4 and 6-8: p.m. A Gowanda Volunteer Fire Department Memorial prayer will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday Sept. 17, 2021, at 11 a.m. from the Gowanda Free Methodist Church, 149 W. Main St., Gowanda (please assemble at church). Masks must be worn if not fully vaccinated , funeral home is supposed to verify vaccination certification if not wearing a mask . Interment to follow in the Jolls Cemetery Town of Perrysburg.

Memorials, if desired may be made to the family to assist in the children’s education.
