Susan “Suzy” Marie Glowski
Susan “Suzy” Marie Glowski, 72, of Riverview Florida, passed away on June 7, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Suzy was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 5, 1950. The daughter of Richard Lesandro and the late Hazel Marie Lesandro, she was raised by her parents in Fredonia, New York.
Suzy graduated from Fredonia High School in 1968. On July 19, 1969, she married the love of her life, the late Mark P. Glowski. Suzy and Mark settled into their home on Seel Acres in Dunkirk where they raised their three children with pride. They cherished their neighbors, friends and family and welcomed everyone into their home for barbecues, some bean dip or the famous “Glowski” drink. Suzy loved children and always wanted to be a teacher. She went on to open a home daycare where she nurtured and taught over a hundred children who were entrusted to her care. She was their “Suzy Mom.” Many of her “graduates” continued to remain in contact and expressed their love and gratitude to her over the years.
In 2002, Sue and Mark moved to the Tampa area where two of their three children and Susan’s parents had already relocated. She was a member of Bell Shoals church and was actively involved in the academy. She treasured being close to her family and being a “Nana” to all her grandchildren. In her spare time, she loved to bake and turned that passion into a business. Most importantly she baked for everyone she loved. She not only brought kindness and caring wherever she went, but she also brought homemade baked goods as well! In July of 2019, family and friends from far and near gathered at a beautiful estate in Florida for a celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary where they renewed their marriage vows. She was especially touched by having so many people there to celebrate this significant milestone. It was not long after, when Susan was first diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Through her long three-year battle, she taught those around her how to be strong, generous and live with grace.
