Annette L. Strohmeyer

Annette was born May 19, 1938 in Buffalo the daughter of William and Mary ( Buffaloe) Thorn.

Annette married Kenneth Strohmeyer in Mississippi on September 19, 1957. Ken passed away June 19, 2008.

A Deputy Clerk for the Town of Persia Anne also served as an Election Inspector for the town for many years.

Annette was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Gowanda. Some of Anne’s past and present memberships include the Gowanda Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary , the Ladies Auxillary for both the American Legion Post 409 and the James Cruden VFW Post 5007 along with being a member of the Slovenian Club and the Moose Lodge 1382 all of Gowanda . When her kids were young Anne was active with the Girl Scouts as a Troop Leader. Anne was a member of the Painter Center in Collins and volunteered for the United Way .

Survivors include 4 children; Kenneth Jr. (Amy) Strohmeyer of Aurora, OR. , Susan (Robert) Foy of Marimar, Fla., Linda Baker of Darien Center , NY and Scott ( Terri) Strohmeyer of Winter Springs Fla. Grandchildren ; Jessica, Jason, Bob, Joshua, Ashley, Kenneth, Michael, Christian and Elena along with many great grandchildren and friends . Annette is also survived by a brother George “Corky” (Sue) Thorn along with several nieces and nephews .

Besides her parents and her husband Ken of 51 years Annette is preceded in death by a brother Frank Thorn and sister Irma Dietz.

Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda from 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday where funeral services will be held Friday January 13, 2023 @ 11:00am. Interment in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Rev. Jess Kacalski Officiating .
