Mary P. Sorci, 97, passed away peacefully in her sleep at midnight on May 26, 2023. She was born in Seminole, PA on November 5, 1925. Mary lived for her family. She is survived by her children: Carol (Malcolm) Thayer, Melinda (John) Bell, Joseph Sorci and Albert Sorci; grandchildren: Robin Thayer, Jason Thayer, Elizabeth (Bell) Kennedy, Kristine Bell, Julie Bell Abbatoy, Jane Graf and Mary Elizabeth Sorci; greatgrandchildren: Alexander Kennedy, Andrew Kennedy, Dylan Abbatoy, Mathew Abbatoy, Hannah Abbatoy, Kasey Thayer, Julian Hartl and Sebastian Hartl. In death, Mary rejoins her beloved husband of 63 years, Joseph L. Sorci as well as her parents Achilles and Malania Marconi and three sisters: Theresa (Leno) Zambotti, Elizabeth “Jeep” (William) Brandon and Inez (Romeo) Martinelli. Everybody’s favorite lunch lady, Mary worked for many years in the cafeteria at Fredonia High School and was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Fredonia. Mary loved to cook and spoil the kids, play Bingo and always kept a pot of coffee and pastries on hand for when company dropped by. She could pick berries even faster than her children could eat them out of her basket. For her constant love and devotion to her family, friends and kindness to all, Mary will be long remembered and much missed. Oh Sanudi. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Church will be held and announced at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined.
