ORCHARD PARK, NY –Glenn I. Brumagin age 86 formerly of Gowanda passed away at the Buffalo General Hospital Monday June 19, 2023.

Born in Wattsburg, Pa. July 23, 1936 the son of Edward and Esslyt (Chapin) Brumagin. A graduate of Wattsburg High , Glenn went on to Slippery Rock State University receiving his Bachelor of Science degree and Masters degree in Education . While at Slippery Rock Glenn was an all star pitcher for the College baseball team . Glenn married the former Evelyn “Jean” McCray August 17, 1957 at the former Abbey Reform Church in Clymer. Glenn taught over 30 years for the Gowanda Central School District . While teaching in Gowanda Glenn coached the Junior Varsity and Varsity Baseball teams, he was instrumental with starting what was known as the Babe Ruth Baseball League for the area with Earl Clabeaux he also founded the Gowanda A’S and Gowanda Red’s Baseball teams .

While in Gowanda Glenn was an active member of the Gowanda Free Methodist Church , serving on various committees and bible study groups within the church. Glenn would spend his summers doing general contracting and home improvement projects in the area. Glenn and Jean raised their 3 children in Gowanda and considered Gowanda home for more than 50. Years. After retiring from teaching Glenn was a licensed Real Estate Agent , he worked for Hunt Real Estate Agency for more than 15 years. Glenn and Jean wintered in Lakeland , Fla for several years before considering Angola then Orchard Park home.

Surviving besides his wife Jean of nearly 65 years are their children; Jack (Maggie) Brumagin of Ft. Myers, Fla. James (Mary Beth) Brumagin of Angola and Philip (Monica) Brumagin of Reisertown, Md. Grandchildren; David, Kelly, Matthew, Nicholas, Madison, Taylor and Kennedy. Great Grandchildren; Ava, Hallie, Max, Molly and Ella. Nieces and nephews also survive .

Besides his parents Glenn was preceded in death by 5 Brothers ; Lewis, Russell, Del, Raymond and Bernard Brumagin along with a sister; Charlotte Ferrante.

Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center Street Gowanda from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Thursday . Funeral Services will be held Friday June 23, 2023 at 11:00 am from the Gowanda Free Methodist Church 149 West Main St. Gowanda (please assemble at church) Rev Simon Knighton officiating, interment in the Cutting Cemetery in Clymer, NY.
