Colleen R. (Dorman) Crise

On the evening of October 18th, 2023, Colleen R. (Dorman) Crise, passed away at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a two month stay for rehab.

Colleen was born at home on February 17th, 1927, in Stockton, NY. She was the eldest child and only daughter born to the late Glenn and Lucy (Cole) Dorman. She was a graduate of Cassadaga Valley High School. Colleen met her future husband, “Rocky” while she and her girlfriends were standing at the four corners in Stockton, waiting for the “city boys” to drive through.

After they married, they settled in Fredonia where they raised three children. The couple, together with Rocco’s brother & sister-in-law, Mike and Antoinette Crise, owned and operated Fredonia Feed and Poultry Supply Store on Water Street for many years.

Colleen worked several part-time jobs in the area. She continued to drive her car, running the roads of Chautauqua County, well into 80 years of age. She still resided in her home, where she raised her children and watched her grandchildren, up until August of 2023.

Colleen was a long time member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehova’s Witnesses in Dunkirk, NY where she participated for many years in home studies, attended conferences and forged relationships.

Colleen is survived by her daughter Janet (William) Morrison, her three granddaughters: Heather (Brad) Anderson, Lindsay Colleen (Lewis) LaCook and Brittany (Dustin) Ransom, five great-grandchildren: Eden, Dean, Kate, Frank and Reverie and granddaughter-in-law Krista Rowland. She was also survived by sister-in-law Elizabeth Dorman, two nephews: Troy (Mona) and Corey Dorman as well as several other extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Rocco T. Crise (1976), her son Perry R. Crise (1968), her three brothers: Glenn, Ralph and Gerald Dorman, her daughter Nancy A. Rowland (2015), son-in-law Alvin K. Rowland (2017) and grandson Brian L. Rowland (2021).

Funeral services will be private and conducted at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home in Fredonia.
