Larry M. Taber

Perrysburg – Larry M. Taber, 76, of Perrysburg, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.

He was born on May 27, 1947 in Gowanda, son of the late George H. and Agnes (Hatch) Taber. Larry served in the US Army, and would later work safety at the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center. In 1990, he married the former Jonette Lauricella, who survives.

Larry and his wife, Jonette, enjoyed partaking in Civil War Reenactments together for over 10 years; Larry was a part of the Cattaraugus County Unit, 9th Mounted Cavalry and enjoyed their reenactments all over, particularly in Canada and Gettysburg. Larry was a life member of the Perrysburg Vol. Fire Department, the Gowanda American Legion, and was also a Patriot Member of the NRA. Larry also enjoyed the outdoors, especially deer season and hunting.

Besides his loving wife of 33 years, Larry is survived by a daughter, Laurie A. Taber, of Perrysburg, and two sister-in-laws, Patricia (late Harold R.) Taber of Silver Creek, and Sue (late George J.) Taber of Cottage. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Shawn Sporakis, Brianna Mingle, and Robert J. Mingle, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and brothers, Larry is also predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Janice (Fred) Wolfe.

Private family graveside services at Jolls Cemetery will be held.

Memorials may be made to the Gowanda American Legion, Gowanda Ambulance Service, or the Perrysburg Vol. Fire Department.
