Richard P. “Dick” Dillenkofer

Richard P. “Dick” Dillenkofer, 74, of Fredonia, N.Y. suddenly passed away at home on Saturday November 4, 2023.

Dick was born in Dunkirk, N.Y. October 19, 1949 to Paul and Lorretta (Janowski) Dillenkofer. Dick graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1967 and after school served in the United States Navy aboad the USS Ticonderoga during the Vietnam War.

He loved the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Indiansand the Michigan State Spartans. Dick was an avid lover of photography and had a passion for waterfalls and lighthouses. He loved traveling the country and spending time listening to the music of the 50’s and 60’s. He always knew any trivia related to that era. Dick worked for 35 years and retired from Nestle Purina in Dunkirk.

Dick is survived by: his wife, Carol (Morrison) Dillenkofer, of Fredonia, N.Y., their daughter, Sara (Joshua) Pitchler; two grandchildren: Ruth and Joizah of Montville, OH; a sister, Carol Dillenburg, of Forestville, N.Y and a niece, Amy (Dillenburg)LaManna, of Memphis, N.Y.

He is predeceased by his father and mother, Paul and Lorretta (Janowski) Dillenkofer.

Visitation will be Friday from 10-11am at the Fredonia First United Methodist Church, 25 Church St., Fredonia followed by a memorial service at 11am. Full Military Honors, accorded by the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council, will be held at church.

Flowers gratefully declined, memorial contributions in Dick’s memory may be made the American Heart Association.
