Mary Ann (Nee Higgs) (Mager) McCoy

Mary Ann (Nee Higgs) (Mager) McCoy, 82, of Fredonia, NY, died Thursday April 24, 2025 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mary Ann was born Dec. 20, 1942 in Dunkirk, NY to Albert Higgs and Margaret (Bement) Higgs Reed. She was raised in Fredonia and graduated from Fredonia High School. Mary Ann is a former member of Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club and the Beaver Club. She was an avid and skilled knitter where she won numerous ribbons at various State Fairs.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine (Nee Mager) Wightman, of Fredonia, NY; grandchildren: Kevin Glavey Jr. of Chapel Hill, NC, Tim Glavey of Brocton, NY, Hannah Glavey (Wendell Wagner-Maggitti) of Fredonia, NY, Jenna Sicard of Atlanta, GA, and Ben Sicard of Atlanta, GA; a great-great-grandchild, Tristin Sicard of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Nancy (late Robert) Winters, Elizabeth (George) Speck, and Joan (Emmons) Patzer; also survived by numerous nieces, and nephews.

Besides her parents, Mary Ann is predeceased by her son, Rene Sicard.

Visitation will be held Monday at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia from 11 am-1 pm, where a funeral service will follow at 1 pm.

Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to daughter, Christine Mager’s home, Monday afternoon and evening beginning at 3 pm. For directions please call or text Christine at 716-680-0248.
