Paula M. Jakubowski

1943-2025

Paula Merrill Jakubowski, 82, of Dunkirk, passed away suddenly.

A lifelong resident, she was born to Robert and Victoria (Kulig) Merrill and graduated from Dunkirk High School with the Class of 1961. She later attended Bryant and Stratton Business School.

Paula worked for Greyhound Bus Lines in Buffalo, D&F Transit in Fredonia, and the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk. She also volunteered for many years with the West Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department and served as a notary public.

In 1968, she married William Jakubowski who survives her.

Survivors include her son, Michael Jakubowski (Michael Shannon); daughter, Deborah (Jose) Ferrer; sister, Roberta Mestrelli; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Paula is also survived by her beloved granddogs, Frank and Lou.

Paula loved traveling, especially visiting family in Denver, Colorado., and Providence, Rhode Island., and cherished a special trip to France. She was also a true fan of football and loved cheering on the Buffalo Bills.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to an animal rescue of your choice in her memory.
