Forestville: Charles G. Stott, 78, of Creek Road, Forestville, died Friday, November 28, 2025 at his residence surrounded by family, following a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was born in Syracuse on June 3, 1947, the son of the late Peter and Evelyn (White) Stott.
Charlie attended Forestville Central School and worked as a Roller for the former Al-Tech Specialty Steel, Dunkirk for 32 years. He previously worked for Dunkirk Ice Cream for 12 years and was a member of the Forestville United Methodist Church. After retirement, Charlie became an “Entrepreneur” who enjoyed going to yard sales, auctions, fishing, mowing lawns & loved his corvette.
Survivors include wife of 58 years Janice (Crowell) Stott of Forestville, whom he married on August 12, 1967 in the Forestville United Methodist Church, two sons Darrin (Cindy) Stott, of Forestville, Mark Stott, of Murfreesboro, TN, a sister Lorraine (Joseph) Hodkin, of Forestville, and a sister in law Shirley Stott of Ludowici, GA. three grandchildren; Nicholas, Nathan and Mason Stott and several nieces & nephews, who he was a “father figure” to. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Jonathon P. Stott, who died November 29, 2005.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials may be made either to Forestville Fire Department, Inc., PO Box 299, Forestville, NY 14062, or to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750.
