Teachers want students in class

Editor, OBSERVER:

As Thanksgiving approaches Fredonia Central School is looking forward to returning students grades six to 12 back to school in a hybrid situation. The administration and staff have worked very hard to make this possible in the safest possible manner. We truly want our kids back.

We cannot, however, do this alone. We also need help from the community as well. As a teacher, I would like to ask the community for its help in helping keep the rate of infection to a minimum. As the holiday approaches please continue to be diligent in following the guidance of the Department of Health — wear a mask in public, avoid large gatherings and wash your hands regularly.

While we can prepare a safe environment for students when they return we cannot control what happens in the community at large.

If we are subjected to the restrictions of a yellow, orange or red zone then we will all lose what we have worked so hard for. Please be diligent for the sake of our children and our community. In this case, it truly takes a village.

Thank you.

KEVIN WAY,

Fredonia Central teacher,

Cassadaga
