Courage needed to assist Ukraine

Editor, OBSERVER:

As some of us may reflect on the days of our youth when the late President John F. Kennedy heroically and successfully stood up to the Russians with a blockade during the Cuban missile crisis, and likewise the late President Ronald Reagan told then Soviet Premier Gorbachev to tear down that Berlin wall, let us now encourage our present administration to exhibit the same resourcefulness and courage to implement the following actions in Ukraine:

¯ A no fly zone over Ukraine.

¯ Humanitarian aid to embattled Ukrainian cities.

¯ Safe “Green” corridor routes for refugees.

¯ Fund and equip international units and/or individuals to fight Russian aggression.

¯ Continue to support Ukrainian President Zelinskyy’s to thwart the Russian invasion.

¯ Gather evidence to label and convict Russian President Putin as a war criminal.

Please consider these measures as vital to the relatively free world we enjoy today because of the concern of our courageous leaders of the past.

As Ukrainian President Zelinskyy recently stated, “If Ukraine falls, so does Europe.”
