More U.S. troubles start at top

Editor, OBSERVER:

If we had abolished the Electoral College years ago we never would have been subjected to President Trump’s first term after he lost by 2.9 million votes. And if we had installed a recall provision for every elective office at the federal level, we could have already begun proceedings to remove Trump from office for his dangerous and erratic behavior. Instead we have to wait 8 more months before we can put an end to this nonsense … but hey at least he’ll get a lot of mileage out of his latest Epstein distraction, an unprovoked war that has already cost American lives.

His supporters won’t have any trouble swallowing his analysis of the war since they continue to exhibit TPGS, Trump Pathetic Gullibility Syndrome. This allowed them to believe the 2020 election was stolen, he would immediately end the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, and he would build the wall financed by Mexico.

Our Congress is without a spine, a conscience or a clue.

Their pathetic addiction to power has prevented them from acting courageously and decisively to remove Trump from office, then begin both civil and criminal cases against him if evidence/facts/proof justify such actions.

This summer marks our 250th anniversary as a nation. Let’s hope we have enough courageous politicians around to make it a true celebration.
