Retrospective

Thirty years ago – 1987

Mrs. Laura D. Foster of Fredonia recently had published a novel “Of Equal Value: Of Equal Beauty,” to complete a trilogy since “Cromanty,” a memorial book for her late husband, Dudley Foster. A former kindergarten, primary and special reading teacher, Mrs. Foster is a lifetime devotee of Sir Walter Scott, world-esteemed romantic novelist.

Forty years ago – 1977

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cieslewicz, 247 Townsend St., Dunkirk were the winners of a 10-day trip to Montego Bay in Jamaica sponsored by D & F Plaza Merchants Association. Rose Murphy, president of the Association, presented the tickets to the lucky couple.

Fifty years ago – 1967

Robert Cimasi, a junior, at Brocton Central School, has been named the Student of the Week. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cimasi, Onthank Road, Portland.
