Town of Charlotte dog control officer John Kachermeyer is concerned about pitbull dogs known to be owned by residents of the town. He addressed the problem in a letter read aloud at the town board meeting, which noted that the city of Jamestown had recently adopted a law designed to control these animals and that the town board should consider similar action. In response to this concern, the town board passed a resolution which stated the situation should be monitored closely and that if a problem does develop, a law would be enacted to control not only pitbulls, but other dogs which may pose a danger to area residents.
