Pope John Paul II has appointed Msgr. Edward M. Grosz as Auxiliary Bishop of Buffalo. Bishop-elect Grosz, a priest of the Diocese of Buffalo, has served for the past 14 years as director of the diocesan office of worship and executive director of the Liturgical Commission. For the past nine years, he has served as chaplain to the Villa Maria Motherhouse of the Felician Sisters.
Forty years ago — 1979
Student of the Week from Cassadaga Valley Central School is Nancy Ann Morley, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Morley of Sinclairville. She is a senior majoring in business and mathematics and ranks in the upper one-fifth of her class. Nancy has held class offices of treasurer (sophomore and junior) and president (senior class). A cheerleader for six years, Nancy plans to attend Jamestown Community College to pursue a career in business.
