Thirty years ago — 1989

Student of the Week is Eileen Hilliker, a senior at Forestville Central School and the daughter of Marvin and Grace Hilliker of York Road, Silver Creek. A member of the National Honor Society, Eileen participates in the 3-1-3 program at SUNY Fredonia. She is a member of the Choraleers and enjoys playing the piano. A cadet in the Civil Air Patrol, she is a Bravo Flight Commander. Following graduation, Eileen plans to enter the U.S. Air Force.

Sale of the Lake Shore Drive West property owned by the Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce was completed when it was purchased by Walter Kardash of Grand Island, who plans to build a Kentucky Fried Chicken there.
