Thirty years ago — 1989

“Pee Wee Herman” entertained last Sunday at the Dom Polski Club’s Children’s Christmas party and at the club’s request, traveled to Brooks Hospital where he spent time with patients in the pediatric ward. The impersonator signed “autographs” and presented each youngster with a get-well balloon.

Forty years ago — 1979

Student of the Week from the Brocton Central School is Kathy Prince, daughter of John and Lucille Prince of Ellicott Road, Brocton. Vice president of her senior class, Kathy is a member of the girls’ varsity swim team, school band and choir, yearbook and student council. She also serves as National Honor Society president. Kathy plans to attend Fredonia State University College to major in computer science.

Fifty years ago — 1969

Miss Jean Centner of Chestnut Road, Dunkirk won first prize in the northern region teen division of the Young America Gardens contest.
