Thirty years ago — 1990

Like his father and grandfather before him, Dana Whitham Wheelock was recently awarded his doctor of medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College — College of Graduate Studies of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. The son of Dr. and Mrs. Dana McK. Wheelock of Fredonia, he will serve a five-year residency in general surgery at Mercy Fitzgerald Medical Center in Darby, Pa.

Forty years ago — 1980

A controversial housing project, which appeared to be killed last month, may have been resurrected by the Dunkirk Housing Authority. The authority has voted to endorse a 60-unit public housing proposal submitted Feb. 7 by M&P Developer Associates Inc. of Dunkirk.

Fifty years ago — 1970

Ground has been broken for the new addition to Mason Hall at Fredonia State University College.

Stephen C. Ames, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ames of Cassadaga, has been named vice president of Marine Midland Trust Company of Western New York.
