The search for a young bear cub that has been wandering around the village of Fredonia continued this morning after it was spotted across from the Aldrich Dairy Store on Route 60 at about 9:30 a.m. The black bear was first spotted at about 3:15 p.m. yesterday near Pine and Chestnut streets and then near Water and Liberty streets. Most witnesses estimated the bear weighed about 80 pounds, but others reported a bear that weighed about 300 pounds. Whether more than one bear is roaming around is unknown.
