Thirty years ago — 1990

The Buffalo law firm of Block and Colucci recently announced the addition of Margaret Logan Noonan as an associate to its western New York office. A resident of Straight Road in Forestville, Mrs. Noonan has been practicing law in Silver Creek for the past three years. Her parents are Frank and Angeline Logan of Forestville.

Forty years ago — 1980

The N.Y.S. champion Murraymen Drum and Bugle Corps had one of their biggest winning weekends of the season so far. The corps won a total of $1,000 for its efforts. On Friday, the Murraymen captured first place and $400 at the Farnham Firemen’s Gala Days. Members competed Saturday in the Old Village Week festival in Frewsburg, capturing another $400 first prize. On Sunday, the Murraymen participated in the Bemus Point Firemen’s Gala Days, coming in first with a $200 prize.

Fifty years ago — 1970

John Mancuso has been appointed assistant principal at Dunkirk High School. Mrs. Alice Widlowski, 422 Central Ave., Dunkirk has returned from a five-week vacation that included a Caribbean cruise and visits in Florida and Washington, D.C.
