Herman and Patricia Sweet of Dunkirk have cultivated a 7-foot high banana plant right at their home. The thriving tree-like tropical plant began as a little sprout about two years ago, when a friend of the couple gave them the unusual gift. The Sweets have since decided to install a greenhouse onto the back of their home at 431 Townsend St. to accommodate their ever growing variety of plants.
