Thirty years ago — 1990

The 1990 Dairy of Distinction award winners in Chautauqua County include Howard and Lucy Ivett of South Dayton. Located on the corner of Butcher and Villenova roads, the Ivett farm boasts 63 registered Holsteins, 50 young stock and 257 acres of cropland. The couple market their high quality milk through Upstate Milk. The award was presented by Chautauqua County Executive Andrew Goodell.

Forty years ago — 1980

Paul Rushboldt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rushboldt of Middle Road, Dunkirk is the recipient of a $4000 scholarship from the Sons and Daughters Program of AL Tech Specialty Steel Corp. Paul is a graduate of Dunkirk High School, where he was vice president of his junior and senior class. He plans ot major in political science at Fredonia State University College.

Fifty years ago — 1970

Winners in the Peanut Butter and Jelly Golf Tournament competed recently at Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk. They are Julie Hoffman, Chris Colvin, Walter Moos, Dan Astry, Mark Jonus, Nancy Valvo, Jim Castle, Bob Conti, Bill Koch, John Reed, Scott Golder and Peter Kerrick.
