It seems Rizzuto had gotten a wire from Jim DeJoe of Fredonia who commented that some members of his family were at the game (in Milwaukee) and on the large number of baseball fans who watch the Yankees games here so far away from New York City. The announcers mentioned the number of Yankee fans who see them play in Cleveland or Toronto. Messer also stated that he lived in Buffalo at one time “and made frequent trips to Fredonia.”

The Fredonia Chamber of Commerce has moved its offices from the White Inn to a new location at the Temple Towers on Temple Street in the village.
