Thirty years ago — 1990

Ben J. Muhlenkamp, president of the Red Wing Company Inc., announced today that a major expansion is planned to the building facilities at the Fredonia plant location. The $4.5 to $5 million facilities expansion will be composed of a large, finished goods shipping warehouse and a small addition to the current materials receiving warehouse complex. Construction will begin in September with a completion date of April 1991.

Forty years ago — 1980

Mary Ann Russo recently opened a Deli Shop at 525 Main St. in Dunkirk. Everyone is invited to stop in personally and enjoy the subs, pizzas, tacos, cold cuts, cheese and more available at Mary’s Deli.

Fifty years ago — 1970

Roger K. Moore, head basketball and baseball coach at Fredonia High School since 1956 and director of health, physical education and athletics since 1967, has been named interim head football coach at the school.
