Retrospective

Thirty years ago — 1990

Westfield native and former resident Robin Dickerson Gebhard has realized her childhood dream of becoming a doctor after 10 years of hard study and work. It took Dr. Gebhard 10 years of hard study and many hours of internship, but she finally made it. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Dickerson of Sherman Road, Westfield, she is currently working in an American Indian health clinic in Montana.

Forty years ago — 1980

Fredonia High School graduate Terry Webster has been awarded a full-tuition scholarship for Jamestown Community College by the Chautauqua County Basketball Officials Association. She starred at forward for Coach Tom Harvey’s girls basketball team that reached the Section VI championship game last winter. Terry is the daughter of Doris Webster of Fredonia and James Webster of Dunkirk. She will be coached by Jerry Skurcenski at JCC.

Fifty years ago — 1970

The Rev. Nilus McAndrew has been assigned as assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Parish in Dunkirk. He was first assigned to the parish in April 1948 when he served there three years.
