Thirty years ago — 1990

Donald J. Hogan, retired administrator of Chautauqua County Vacationlands Association, will be honored by Seaway Trail Inc. at an upcoming banquet. Hogan encouraged Seaway Trail’s development and recommended that it continue through Chautauqua County. In 1986, the Niagara Falls to Ripley section of the Trail was dedicated by the Department of the Interior as the longest National Recreation Trail in the nation.

Forty years ago — 1980

A “Do You Remember?” photo was taken at the dedication of the Fourth Ward Falcon Club on July 4, 1915. The photo includes members of the Falcon Home Guard Unit and the White Eagle Band. The little girl in the center of the photo is the former Olga Nowak, now Mrs. Warren Kaus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Nowak. She had the honor of raising the flag.

Fifty years ago — 1970

Rose Scott, the current vice president of the Class of 1971 at Cardinal Mindszenty High School, is the Calendar Girl of the Month.
