Christopher Lasch, author of the bestselling book, “The Culture of Narcissism,” was the guest speaker at Fredonia State University College during its annual Academic Convocation. The historian’s morning talk on American culture in King Concert Hall was delivered to a full house. An afternoon panel discussion on American politics with Fredonia faculty members also was held.
Forty years ago — 1980
Jeff Vogt, the endorsed Right to Life candidate for State Assembly in the 150th District, has announced the appointment of Paul Rushboldt, Middle Road, Dunkirk as the director of his campaign against incumbent Democrat Rolland Kidder and Republican-Conservative opponent Robert V. Stanley.

According to an announcement today, ground breaking for the Holiday Inn project on Bennett Road has now been rescheduled for the spring of next year.
