Thirty years ago — 1990

Ronald C. Bishop of Westfield has a unique job. In fact, his profession is so unusual he is the only one for miles around. Mr. Bishop is in his 38th year as an organ salesman/serviceman. The organs he deals with are not the small ones one might see in local music stores, but rather the huge and incredibly ornate pipe organs found in large churches.

Forty years ago — 1980

Members of the Buffalo Bills are coming to Westfield to appear in a benefit for a 12-year-old cancer victim. Mario Clark, Charles Romes, Jerry Butler and Rod Kush are just a few of the Bills who will be on hand to greet the public. The benefit is sponsored by the Westfield VFW.

Fifty years ago — 1970

Mrs. Howard Green, chairman for the Brocton-Portland area of the Chautauqua County Red Cross Chapter, has reported that the 1970 campaign for members and funds has begun. Mrs. Charles Lesch is the chairman in Brocton and Mrs. Donald Town, chairman in Portland.
