Thirty years ago — 1991

Student of the Week is Kris Kozlowski, 17, a senior at Pine Valley Central School. He is the son of Jeffrey Kozlowski of Dayton and Barbara Kozlowski of Leon. The National Honor Society president, Kris is also president of his senior class. He was a Boys State representative and is a candidate for a U.S. Army ROTC scholarship. Kris plans to enroll in an engineering program at either Rochester Institute of Technology or SUNY Fredonia.

Forty years ago — 1981

Chautauqua County drew about a “B-“ overall as a site for new industry, a $25,000 detailed study of the advantages and disadvantages of locating a plant here revealed. Falling into the “Excellent” category were the County’s labor supply as well as the quality, productivity and low turnover of the workforce.

Fifty years ago — 1971

The Cassadaga Valley Faculty Association has nominated the Cassadaga Valley Central School Board for the 1970-71 Association of Classroom Teachers, Thom McAn National School Board Award for its “leadership in meeting the needs of contemporary education.”
