Thirty years ago — 1991

Under the direction of John Morse, 12 students at the Northern Chautauqua Catholic School have formed a school band. The band will play at school concerts. Members include Jill Mrowka, Francie Trippi, Gene Wlodarek, Eric Kolodziej, Beth Pantano, Brian Cole, Suzie Scholand, Jamie Kall, Jenny Decker, Ivy Rivera, Jenny Conti and Phil Julian.

Forty years ago — 1981

Miss Martha Snyder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Snyder, 65 Seel Acres, Dunkirk and a Colgate University senior, is spending the January Special Studies Period as a member of the college’s first study group in China. A Dunkirk High School alumna, Martha is an economics major.

Fifty years ago — 1971

“Put a Little Love in Your Heart” is the theme of the first annual Dunkirk High School variety show scheduled this week at DHS. Liz Barbknecht and Greg Farnham are masters of ceremony for the talent-packed performances.
