Retrospective

Thirty years ago — 1991

Polly Hall, a student at Forestville Central School, was one of two recipients of the DAR Good Citizen Award, presented by the Major Benjamin Bosworth Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. She received her award from Mrs. Ralph Brown, regent. The second recipient is Neil Kagan Bogosian, a student at Silver Creek Central School.

Forty years ago — 1981

Congratulations go out to Kathy Skubis of Dunkirk, who was dealt double pinochle four times during a Sunday night card game. That’s real happiness (and a miracle) for any pinochle enthusiast.

Fifty years ago — 1971

Rusch’s Restaurant on Lake Shore Drive West in Dunkirk is still featuring its popular all-you-can-eat Rock Lobster Tail Special on Friday nights. The cost is $6 per person.
